Laolu is a committed advocate to Social Justice issues in Nigeria and in the diaspora. When he arrived in the states the Trayvon Martin case was just about to occur. This spurred the work he created titled, Social Justice that discusses issues about gun violence, racism, oppression, police brutality and unjust laws such as Stand your Ground. In Nigeria, Laolu worked as a human rights lawyer for the Nigerian National Human Rights Commission. The area in which he worked was Women and Children's Rights.
He believes strongly in equality for all no matter race, gender, sex, education level, religion, etc. His arrival in the US has opened his eyes to many different types of social justice issues. You will see these throughout his works since he's arrived in NY.
