A striking commentary on events and people that were integral in shaping the year. In this piece, the audi- ence is challenged to exercise their agency to explore figures, symbols and words created by Láolú’s signature technique of combining the ‘Sacred Art of the Ori’ and ‘Afromysterics’. Láolú’s technique is a language, a line tell- ing a compelling story that spans generations and borders. The work embodies his thoughts on capitalism, genocide, police brutality, fake news and human rights raising aware- ness of the parallels between what’s taking place in Ameri- ca and across the African Diaspora.

For Láolú, this piece was carefully crafted to not just cre- ate a mood, but to inform and direct people to ask ques- tions, to dig deeper and to draw the invisible lines that hold this world together. Most importantly, to open your eyes to all of the flashpoints that shape how we currently live.
